Cosy Corner is a great beach between Margaret River and Augusta, just off Caves Road.  It lies within the Leeuwin Naturaliste (nope, sorry not Naturist) National Park with Hamelin Bay, Karridale and Jewel Cave all nearby.  The beach is accessible in a normal 2 wheel drive car but the road in can sometimes be in poor condition, so take it slow.  The car park is above the beach and there is a sloping, well maintained path down on to the beach.  The sand is clean and stretches for approximately 500m.  The beach faces to the southwest (see "Satellite" option on map) so can have some waves but scattered islands offshore provide some shelter.

The car park has no facilities.  The nearest water, toilets and shop are at Hamelin Bay 9km north.  This has good camping areas but does get quite busy during holiday periods.

Current Status

Cosy Corner is an unofficial beach that has been used for nude bathing.  It is somewhat overlooked from the car park so it is best considered during less busy periods.

When To Visit

The  weather is usually suitable between November and April but occasional days outside this period can be delightful. Temperatures vary from 20 to 40oC during the day in these months and rain is unusual from January to April.
The sea breeze usually comes in around midday and can blow the soft sand everywhere, so the morning is usually the best time on the beach. Take a strong windbreak if you intend staying during the afternoon.

There are no contacts for this beach.

How To Get There

From Margaret River head south for 28.9 km on Bussell Highway (route 10) towards Augusta.  Turn right at Bushby Road and drive 2.4 kms to the T junction on Caves Road.  Turn left at Caves Rd for 3.2 km to the Hamelin Bay turnoff (road actually goes straight on to Hamelin Bay).  Turn left to stay on Caves Road for 2.3 km then turn right at Cosy Corner Road.
If you are driving north from Augusta take the Bussell Highway for 3.5 km, then turn left at Caves Road and drive 11.0 km to the left turn into Cosy Corner Road.
Cosy Corner Road is gravel and can be quite corrugated.  Follow the road for 3.6 km to the car park.  Walk down the track to the beach and either stay on the right if no one is around, or walk along the beach to the left.
